| I have thoughts about this... these days came this song in my mind and just reflects my paranoid feelings; see, I think I'm not religious not even a bit. All this doubt in every little thing makes me feel like everything is conspiracy. The whole religion thing = conspiracy. But still, as an atheist, I need an explanation or some kind of backup to calm my mind of the things and the questions I don't have the answers. For every thing that a believer can say it was a Gods will, I also need an explanation. So, when I fail to find an explanation for some task, this kind of feeling like this robot chasing the man gets me. So I guess I need a principle that could put my mind at ease and avoid paranoia. | |

I have listened this music, played this song on my guitar, and have watched this movie "Closer" a few years ago and now I am back again to this song thinking about the last words that has EVERYTHING with the song even it doesn't sounds like that! I see it like a good feeling after a sad song. I see it as a hope for better days to come with meeting another great person like he has in the movie. He knows that he loves her from the bottom of his heart, he will do everything to work it out with her, but he also knows that he will have to move on and search for someone else if things end badly for them. |

As I see it, watching the video... He is moving through tough life, not interested in her, who is begging to be with him. He is running for his freedom, but from time to time when he turn around, she is still there. She is persistent and she want to be around him through every difficulty that life carries. He is scared that he is running out of freedom, so he tries to escape. But her persistence win, and he capitulate... For me, this song just opened my eyes. The main point of the song for me is (from music video) the part when they are talking (I adore these 2 points of view): (his point of view) He: "You know, when you act like that, I dont think you realize how makes me look, or feel..." She: "Act like what?! Why are you so jealous?! Its not like Im sleeping with a guy..." He: "What!!!? (her point of view) She: "What!!!? He: "I sai... (laughter), I said, yo, why are you so jealous?! Its not like Im sleeping with a girl..." (and now we can see that she is hurt... and she share a tear) ...this can be understand for male or female feelings when it has been hurt. Very nice song! |

Man, I am astonished! These words so fit to my situation... I think that here is about a person, a guy, who doesnt like much people, better say: afraid of people. A one who like lonelyness. Everytime he walks outside, the failure with people gets him. Maybe, the same thing is with girls. Of course, time wont pass him by, and he will lose a lot if he doesnt get strength and courage to deal with it. The voice, (she), is calling him to come to her at night, so they could make a big progress in man-woman relationship and share intime moments. "Bring part of yourself that you'll let me keep" - I think that this "part" means "worm feeling" (heart). I am not quite sure what "lies" means... "Someday we all have to die...", so why lose any more time on misunderstandings within genders when it is very simple! ... yeah, the "lies" may be "misunderstandings, passivity, fears of people" ...this is just my point of view... |
