When I hear this song I feel like he's sitting on a plane that is about to crash and he's singing about his life and wishing there was more he could've done with his time on this earth. Maybe it's just a story about that type of situation, not everything has to have a deeper meaning, some of the best songs are just stories |

To me this song is about beer. Except the fact that I usually drink thurs - sat, haha. It reminds me of that time in high school where you're just waiting for the weekend. Even though it's only Monday, you are just so excited to go out with your friends on friday and drink, dance, and just let loose. PS I'm dressing up like Robert Smith for halloween. I got a big black wig, black clothes, and i'm gonna put on some lipstick and eyeliner, haha, cant wait till Friday! |

The term "punch drunk" really has nothing to do w/ alcohol as far as i understand it. It's true definition is when a boxer gets drunken symptoms after getting beaten. I always thought it had to do w/ getting beaten emotionally. I think it's about getting your heart broken, maybe trying to find out what the heck you're gonna do w/ your life, who you are going to move onto next now that someone screwed you over again. |

I like to think the song is about just getting fed up with the town you live in and all the people that bring you down that live there. I think its about a particular person that just makes it unbearable to be in the same location as them. It's about breaking free of people that bring you down and learning to live on your own without them. |

Hah...I thought it was about Kurt as well, but idk I guess he should be over that. I know he wrote "Friend of a Friend" about him on this (the acoustic album) so I doubt he'd write two songs about him. I like the fan idea, that would be rad if that were true. I just got into the Foo like 4 years ago and I'd love to see them live. |

I think this song is about looking back on your life so far and realizing there is a lot that you regret and a whole bunch that you would change if you could. I know everyone says "I don't have any regrets, everything happens for a reason, I'm stronger because of that experience." I think that is bull-s**t. Everyone has regrets and would go back and change stuff if it were possible. I like this song because it says "if I could go back once again, I would change everything." I think this song is about owning up to your mistakes...but in the end time won't let you do it, so you're left to live with your mistakes, and you better be able to deal with them. |

I think "city by the sea" is Los Angeles...where I believe they wrote this album, that could be wrong though. I think Anna Molly is simply a metaphor that sounds a lot like anamoly which is why they used it. I think it's about Brandon and searching for his soulmate (if you wanna call it that) which he has already found...possibly in a flashback of how he felt when searching for "the one" and he could picture her in his minds eye, but didn't know her yet. |
