Dark Tranquillity – Fabric Lyrics 15 years ago
Stanne also sometimes throws out vague and probably intentionally-misleading interpretations of his own songs (at least, I have often thought so). That's not to say that that's not what the song is about, but I've always read it differently.

I think that this song is about growing up. Not a typical DT theme, but it fits. As undeveloped children, we are full of love, creativity, and innocence. When we grow into the adult world, those things become childish and our adult pursuits become practical things and lusty things. It's pretty obvious which lyrics fit this theme. In wanting to be adults (as teenagers do), we are "lured into hiding out of sight", suppressing our childish creativity and dreams in favor of sex ("willed to find strangers in the wickedest state").

I think the line "fiery changeling" cements it. Really, how is that not about a young person in the hormonal fury of moving from child to adult?

Dark Tranquillity – The Grandest Accusation Lyrics 15 years ago
I wrote an extended essay on this album, available here:

Ironclad is, I think, on the right path. The line is actually "Man is the cemetery for un-lived life". On its own, it is a condemnation (or accusation, if you will) of those who fail to live life. In the grand scheme of the album, it is probably about those who surrender to the inevitability of their own deaths. More on why in the essay above.

Dark Tranquillity – Iridium Lyrics 15 years ago
I have an extended analysis of the lyrics of the album as a whole available at the following link.

http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/dark-tranquillity/570365-void-you-technical-reference-3.html#post9070729

The earlier portion of the thread is dedicated to an analysis of the techniques and structure of the music itself; not necessarily relevant to non-musician readers.

In general, I would agree with the opinions above: Iridium is about a global extinction event. More on why I think so, and how it relates to other songs above!

The Sounds – Tony the Beat Lyrics 18 years ago
There are a few minor errors in these lyrics. The correct ones can be found in the music video (check youtube).

I was trying to figure out what "Tony the Beat" means, but the odd sound of the phrase lead me to conclude that its an anagram.

"Eat by the Ton"

With lines like "Get down and do what you've been told," this song can't be about anything other than oral. And based on the anagram in the title, a lot of it.
