I understand his anger...people saying "it obviously is a christian song if it's a christan band" is so wrong and ignorant. So you're saying everything a christian says is influenced, is about, and HAS to be about god? I'm sick of people thinking that a christian band can't sing about a relationship or a girl or whatever. I had no idea Skillet was a christian band until I heard one of their more "gospel-y" songs. People, they are a christian ROCK band. They don't sit around and pow-wow about "oh how can we bring jesus into the lives of more people? oh i don't know, lets make songs that can be taken either way and then people will love jesus!" Some people swear a lot. It's okay. Be more angry about the caps than the fucks. Having gone through depression and attempted suicide before, and now being with the love of my life, i know EXACTLY what this song is saying. Sure, it could be about losing your faith. But you can lose your faith in more than just god. |

"It is SO about God, seeing that Skillet IS a Christian band. " This is wrong. Flyleaf is a "christian" band but they have said themselves that not all of their songs are about god. I think that if you are single or in a relationship where this doesn't apply, you will most likely think this is about god. But for those of us waking up every day next to the love of our lives, we see this as a song about a significant other. A LOT of Skillets songs go both ways. My boyfriend and I listen to them together and take them how we will. |
