The minute and thirty seconds of silence at the end is due to a hidden track being after it (The Grim Goodbye). Even on my Deluxe Edition CD the silence is there and The Grim Goodbye isn't listed in the track listing on the back because of it's status. So that'd explain it. Back to the song though! Again, I love this song to pieces; it's the most beautiful thing ever written. It will always be my favorite song of all time!! And it will always be our song Ali!!! I'll never let you fall, I'll stand up with you forever. I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven. |

Hmm...I never considered the drug overdose thing, but I guess that could work... Tho to me this song is about maybe going into a coma or something that leaves you temporarily dead and falling in love with someone that you meet there, in Heaven or something...But you don't quite belong in such a place so you have to return to where you came from, hoping to one day, when the time is right, go back to this special person you met there. I see this song in metaphors when I connect it to personal events in my life... |

I love this song!!! It doesn't matter who sings it I suppose but the way Graves sings this in comparison to how he sounds on any other song is just amazing...such a creepy vibe and haunting vibe. Still, I guess the meaning of this song is a little obvious...a dark longing for the return of a deceased loved on, and feeling unable to go to Heaven without them. |

This song is absolutely beautiful to me and I love it so much, probably one of my favorite songs ever by The Used despite the fact I don't listen to it all that often. It truly is one of the most beautiful yet tragic songs I've ever heard... I also think it's about Kate, but before I knew about all that I just felt that this was just another deep, emotional song about losing someone that you love. I always assumed it was about a breakup...only for him to realize later that he was wrong and it's hard to say one year later that he's been wrong and he needs her there...I think I'm gonna cry just thinking about it... |

I almost feel like this song is unrelated to the Demolition Lovers story. To me it almost feels like it's about a guy who meets girls on the internet, starts a relationship with them then kills them, stealing their identity. I say this because of the lines "Stay out of the light, or the photograph that I gave you", and "Can I meet you alone?" things that are common in online relationships (exchanging pictures, wanting to meet in person)... The guy does this trying to hide who he is, and continues until he's killed (maybe this is about someone killed by the male Demolition Lover), thus making himself and all his identities "all dead now", but he accepts it cuz he had grown sick of doing what he did (maybe this actually is about the male Demolition Lover himself and how he's killing all the evil people he can) and feels it's "better off this way"... Huh, this could be seen in so many different ways but those are my ideas on this... |
