Toehider – What Kind of Creature Am I? Lyrics 6 years ago
This song is part of the storyline, that started in "Malcolm, Dust ‘em" (from Toehider Too!) and continued in "I’ve Been So Happy Living Down Here in the Water" (from GOOD) and "Concerning Lix & Fairs".

The "GIANT MADE OF ROCK" is a reference to the Bride from "Malcolm, Dust 'em", literally a rock giant, who laid an egg in the forest after cheating on Malcolm, as a testament to Mills' imagination, or, as someone put it, Progressive madness.

The Divine Comedy – The Booklovers Lyrics 10 years ago
"Happy the man" verse is inspired by John Dryden's English translation of one of Horace's odes (Imitation of Horace, book III, ode 29, vv. 65-72).

The Dryden's original text is also quoted in "Ode to the Man", the last mini-track of the album:

Happy the man, and happy he alone
He, who can call today his own
He who, secure within, can say
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today
