I actually took tis sng and applied it to a situation i was in not long ag. I felt tht it fit almost perfectly. I was dating a girl who recently got out of a long term relationship. This ex broke up with hr and didn't want anything to do with her until i stepped into the picture. Her and i really fell for weachother. But, then the ex started bumping his head into her life again and she was torn as to giving her old relationship another chance or staying with me. Myself being in her shoes in the past and knowing that the ex was just wanting something because he was afraid of loosing it for good; knew her position. I tried explaining if she went back to him, after a short time he would start acting the same towards her as in the past which ultimaltely led to them breaking up in the first place. I was completely unselfish about the situation the whole time ad wanted her to be happy. So in saying all that...If you knew what i knew (having been in that situation and knowing most likely how it ws going to end) Would you try...? (would you try and give "our" relationship an honest chance; before you stay stuck choosing a new future or an old past, and let the stress overcome you) Would you know what you desire.... (As in how the ex did not treat her with the respect and care thatshe deserved and she knew deep inside what was best for her) Is there time....(Was there enough time for me to show her what i coould be) The next few lines explain the fight she was fighting in herself ultimately leading to her decision. The last line about poson trees to my situation meant that she might not necassarily know what she needs, but she cant hide behind the doubt forever. A desicion had to be made. |
