I think this song is about friendship. Perhaps two best friends…. One is a good friend and the other one is the bad one. The bad friend is always trying to take away any happiness that the good friend finds, and now she’s wondering why can’t the other friend just ever let her be happy? This song talks about two great friends.... they both have feelings for each other but never told one another. And when the girl finally tells him how she feels, everything that she says he can see it in her eyes that she means every word. But its because the friendship has been built so strong, it just doesn't seem right anymore. He's saying that she means more to him now that he sees her, and if they knew what they knew now they could've been lovers, but on the bright side of things shes still his day late friend..and it still could happen. This song tells how a person feels like at the moment. I recently had a close guy friend who I did and share everything with. We were so close, love all the same things, had so much in common. We had a miscommunication, and everything just blew up. I miss him...and i found this song on his page, after I had sent him a message after a month of not talking to him. I think this tells how he feels at the moment.. So I guess I am the girl in this song. :( "You believed me, in every single lie.
