After a heck of a lot of searching, I figured out the nature and origin of this song. This was originally a song by "Majik Alex," which was 3eb's lead guitarist Tony Fredianelli's band before joining 3eb. It's a fantastic song and I wish 3eb would record it properly some time. |

This has special meaning to me. I was born in '83, so I was still a toddler when this song was popular. My dad used to call me the "captain of his heart," and this sort of became our song. Every time I hear it it brings me back to those days of innocence when I would long to spend every moment with him. It wasn't until years later I realized the song wasn't "Captain of *MY* Heart," but the meaning remains for me. It's a tad ironic that also, years later, I'd acquire the nickname "Kaptin," as reflected in my login. |

Actually, it's the guy on keyboards (and drums) that died of a heart attack, Felix Haug, years after the duo broke up. Kurt Maloo, the singer, went on to pursue a (mostly unsuccessful) solo career through the mid 90's.
