i was completely infatuated with this song in summer 07 and also with a n incredible girl i knew. we were on holidays together with a group of people and shit happened between us. i remember dancing to this song and "believe me natalie" on repeat for hours until like half 10 in the morning with insane joy, with emphasis on the " I was out shopping for a doll To say the least, I thought I've seen them all But then you took me by surprise I'm dreaming bout those dreamy eyes I never knew, I never knew" Kinda knew i was outta my league and it all fell to shit in a few days after a few drinks. She said it wouldnt ever happen, and i said fine cos i knew she was way outta my league. Anyway they returned home earlier than us and the rest of the verse had a serious irony to it. | I came across this song bout 7 years ago when damien was first gigging in ireland. My brother was in the same kinda musical circle and he informed me that the song was written about this younger damien was in love with. He wrote this in his final year in school after falling in lo0ve with his musical tutor's daughter who was 14 or 15 when he was 18. the blowers daughter is reference to the fact he was getting tutored on how to use the flute. | |
