I think that she is ready to move on at this point and he cant move on at all so he is going to stay behind while she keeps moving forward with her life with or with out him. they really dident know where they were heading at first ...and then realized it wasent the same direction. so he is going to be left behind at the roadside. They are both hurt, but its one of those things that has to be done. I love how much you can hear the feeling in Tim's voice in this song. |

I believe this song is about how he's in love with another woman but can't handel the strees of being hurt again so he's "afraid of the gift she gives him" and sense he's holdin back he's goin through a depressive stage sayin he's not woth it and he's "ashamed of the lie he's livin" because he's thinkin he can't hold on to the relationship due to the anxiety and pain he's causing himself in tryin to get through it.but he wants to feel again, he wants to have wat he use to, he wants the emotional attachment that he opnce shared but he's too skeptical about it now knowing wat can happen. basicaly sayin he's gonna get away from her cuz he's not wantin to get hurt. |
