| The Beatles – I'm So Tired Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I heard somewhere that this song is about opium. I don't know if thats true, but I think half the fun of lyrics is finding a meaning that makes sense to you, whether or not the artist intended it. It fits for me anyway. If you've ever been through any form of opiate withdrawal, think about it, it pretty much sums it up. | |

| Neutral Milk Hotel – Communist Daughter Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is so sexy, but not in an overwhelming way, ya know? I want neutral milk hotel to get back together and live in my apartment and sing me to sleep every night, then wake me up with singing in the morning. Then maybe follow me around all day singing? |

I am gonna try and put this in the least confrontational way possible. Someone above commented that: "Insulting this record would be like making fun of a kid with down syndrome" They then went on to say that we should excuse the album for not being the best, because the artists were going through a rough time. (excuse me if I missinterpreted what you said) If that's the way you feel, well ok. In my opinion, some of the best music (such as this song) comes from the most fucked up of times, as does a lot of art. I dunno about you guys, but I don't usually enjoy music that was written by a perfecty happy and stable person. Where is the heart? I am an artist, and though I am sober and still writing, some of my best music (I think) came from fucked up strung out nights. I personally really like this album and this song. I don't know the guys of modest mouse personally, neither do you. I wont pass judgement, or try to justify their actions. I just wanna enjoy their music however it came to be. Feel free to say mean things or call me crazy or whatever. I'm just stating my opinion. I could be totally wrong, and probably am cause nobody really knows what the artist's intention was in music, but the artist, but I think the song is about people in general. I dunno, it just says something about the absurdity of humans to me. It makes me think about how we just sorta tool around, and feel accomplished with stupid shit. We are the only organisms on the planet that feels the need to complicate life in the manner we do. Really, who else destroys as much? What animal feels the need to live up to the un attainable standards of beauty and success that we set for ourselves? "We were laughing at the stars while our feet clung tight to the ground So pleased with ourselves for using so many verbs and nouns But we were all still just dumber than the dirt on the ground" yeah. I know it's not a flattering interpretation neccessarily, but thats how I see it. |

| Modest Mouse – The Good Times Are Killing Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| hahaha! I am so entertained by you guys analyzing this song. Drugs are really fun, and you have good times on them. Then eventually they wear away at your body. I think the message is clear, I dunno. As for if modest mouse lyrics are lsd inspired, I think so. I mean there are certain lines in their songs that make me feel like I'm having a flashback and the world is going to end. But in good way. But then maybe I'm just some crazy little hippie girl whos eaten too much acid and is going nuts and being killed by the good times... | |
