I like this song a lott. its one of those song that easily gets stuck in my head. i'm not quite sure what it means. but i think its got something to do with how his dreams are better than his reality. "don't wake me cause i'm dreaming, of angels on the moon." he doesn't want to know if he's dying because he just wants to live his life and not worry about anything. I'm guessing that a lot of his friends have died and he feels so low about it that he's not even sure he's alive anymore "i want a sunburn just to know that i'm alive". He thinks his friends didn't deserve to die and that they should still be here, that it wasn't there time to die. "angels on the moon, where everyone you know, never leaves too soon". the angels on the moon, are his dead friends i guess? cause their angels, and his dream is just what he wants to happen, he doesn't want to wake up to this world where he has nothing left and his friends arent there anymore. |

| i didn't really like this song at first. but then one morning i was sick and i was laying in bed listening to the jump start on vh1 when this song came on and when i seen the video i became addicted to it. i love this song and the video is just random and funny. it reminds me of this guy that i was gonna go out with. he told all my friends he was getting ready to ask me out and we had hung out a couple times and then one day he just quit talking to me. he started ignoring me and stuff. i didnt waste my time worrying about it but "when he sees my face i hope it gives him hell" :] im sure it does because everyone told him he had fucked up big time. he actually walks back and forth past my classroom trying to make me look at him, but i just ignore it. i hope its giving him hell. | |

the first part shows how out of it he is he doesnt even know what he's looking for and he just wants someone to come and get him out of his daze. he know everything is gonna be allright so he's just glad he's alive. and knowing things will get better he lives each day as good he can. "im alright, I tell myself twice in the mirror before I cant go to sleep at night I need a lullaby I need some time I need to get a dime bag from my guy" he's telling himself eveythings fine but he knows he wants someone to help him live his life "i need a lullaby" but in the mean time no one is there so he uses his drug to get him through. |

"You're right, I get it It all makes sense, you're the perfect person So right, so wrong Let's all live in your imaginary life" this part to me is like how a guy is telling his girl "your right im wrong, happy" i hate that but its him just trying to get along. and he's being sarcastic through the verse. and when he says lets all live in your imaginary world. meaning that in her life she's never wrong, she's always right. thats impossible thats why he says imaginary. idk i cant really get my thoughts into words. haha but yeah i can see this song as a dream chaser too like how in this part "So you say your're ignored As it is, Well, give us your sad, sad trip" its saying ur ignored by everything ur trying to accomplish. the big ppl dont notice you so give us ur sad story and join the rest sorta thing. idk just sayin. |

ok so here's how i look at it, it's more of like a relationship problem. "Hey, the way you knock me down, and I get up again. Oh, pain a remedy that can reach a sting. I’ll keep holding, and I’ll keep trying, to feel this fight, and then slowly die, and now look I feel painless." - pretty much saying how they get in fights or what not and he always comes back. instead of breaking it off with her. he sticks it out. hoping for it to get better. thats why he learns to feel "painless". because dealing with their fights and problems. is nothing compared to the pain he'll feel if they are apart. "until this empty place is filled.i'll keep pretending" -yeah i take that as his heart. he knows now everythings not so good. but he knows it'll get better. but until then he's just gonna pretend everythings fine. man i love this song. |
