Well, first of all "When the rich wage war its the poor who die" isn't an original Linkin Park quote although undoubtably it is amazing, but the actual best quote in this song is "It's ironic that at times like this you pray, but the bombs blew the mosque up yesterday". |

This song is obviously about teenage suicide, there are so many posts already explaining that so i won't even bother.
This song is amazing and i can really connect to it because not too long ago i was seriously considering suicide. the song described what i was going through almost exactly, and belive it or not this song really helped me get through that time in my life. just because i understood that other people may be going through the same thing.
Just a side note, you know how people always say that suicide is really selfish for the person who kills themsleves becuase it effects the people around them and makes them really sad. That is the dumbest thing ever. If someone is so depressed and their life is so horrible that they truly want to die, how can you say they are selfish for commiting suicide because you might feel a little sad for a few months. |

I think this song is about two married people, but they're always fighting. They try really hard to keep the marriage going but nothing seems to work. "all this time we keep trying so hard but we can't get it right". Each day the marriage is getting worse. "Time keeps on slipping away, and everyday ends the same way". They get really close to divorcing each other, "i'm a little afraid this could end
i'm tired of being nuts and i'm wearing thin
the clock keeps on spinning us over and over again" but once again they perservere. In the end though they finally find something that helps them and fixes their problems; "i know the way to get through this". He tells her to be strong and stand by him, "just keep holding on and i'll show you the way". however this path will requir sacrife, but it will be ok,"i know that we can get through this i'm not afraid".
Thats what i think anyway.
