| Beastie Boys – Instant Death Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The person's father has committed suicide, so they feel alone. They've probably lost their mother, but still wish they could show her their accomplishments. There is no comfort of home to return to. Death seems too ominous now, and so he hopes that when his own death comes, it comes fast. | |

On the live version of this song it sounds like he says at 3:30: There is a place In the back of my mind Where I used to (turn??) But that doesn't sound like what he says in the original version, and for some reason this is really bugging me! |

I've wondered what he whispers at 3:56 too... Maybe we will never know (geh I hope not, maybe he says it on a different version of the song where it would be more audible?) And about the God's arm/presence thing, it's reeaally unlikely that he would have been working on Year Zero's concept during The Fragile. So just a nice coincidence probably, heheh. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Complication Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The majority is very complex sounding, like various emotions and ideas constantly competing until the end when they seem to snag together and die down. The end always feels kind of sad to me, like these things are trying to get back up smoothly, but fall away again. | |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Without the sun the moon is just a dark satellite, without life we are just corpses. | |

I know this site is about the meaning of the lyrics, but all I have to say is that this song is amaaaazing. I love NIN songs from The Fragile era. My favorite line from this would have to be "waves of every feeling ever felt come screaming." The imagery is just awesome. There's a kind of desperate need in the lyrics, but also like something is/will be inevitably overwhelming. |

Well first there's a few errors in the lyrics: The towns I passed through- not things Keychains and snowglobes The meaning probably varies depending on how it's looked at, but to me it's about someone who feels he is always in the present, and therefore needs some sort of reminder to be sure that the things he experienced actually happened: I have got to have a memory Or I have never been there I have never had you The last part makes me think that maybe he'd never really had the person he is stalking- at least it seems like he's stalking someone. So when he takes photos of her he's probably imagining that he actually did things with her, but in reality did not. The snowglobe part points to that as well, like a fantasy in his little world. The photos make it seem more real, giving him false reminders to feed his fantasy. Something like that anyways, anyone agree? And yeah there is talking in the background, it's audio samples from a prank phone sex call with a few other things, which can be found on the DVD of Closure. It's pretty funny. |
