| The Wombats – Here Comes The Anxiety Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i really really really love this song. the first verse especially. and the chorus. and the bit about floodlighting up the match. :) i reckon it's about this guy who's really upbeat and fun and is very sociable. but he loves this girl. and he just wants his friends to stay around so he can forget about her and carry on being the fun guy that he is. He knows that as soon as they leave, he's got no distractions, and he'll start thinking about her. He doesn't want to think about her, cos he doesn't know what she thinks of him (hence the 'love anxiety') it reminds me of one of my friends :) |

| The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i LOVE joy division, and i LOVE this song. **this song is NOT making fun of joy division!!** its simply stating that its ironic to dance to it, because its not really dancey music. it would be like saying 'lets use the wombats in a disney movie and celebrate the irony'. that's not insulting the wombats OR disney movies, its merely stating that the 2 dont go together!! *rant over* To me, this song is about squeezing the most fun you can out of life. Where most people would listen to joy division and think depressing thoughts (because they were generally written on depressing topics), these guys are dancing to it - getting fun out of it. Then, its ironic. GREAT!! let's get the most out of this, and CELEBRATE the fact that we're being ironic. the world would be a much more fun place if everyone looked at life this way :) |
