| I don't exactly know how people got the idea this song is about immigrant marches... Cedric and Omar both stated that this album is about religion. It's harder to interpret the meaning of songs on Amputechture because the album isn't set up in a story format. However, I do have some personal interpretations of verses in this song. "How long must we fold by hand? The nuns are burning wheels again." It sounds like Cedric is saying that religion is hindering the progress of our society, the wheel is often used as a symbol of invention. Nuns burning it would be saying that religion or Christianity in particular is trying to stop humanity from advancing. That's just my personal opinion on it... | |
