Robyn – Dancing On My Own Lyrics 14 years ago
I like that I can't distinguish if its "guy" or "girl". Makes the song fit for everyone, regardless of orientation or whatever. The best songs touch everyone. Everyone can find something to relate to in them. That's why the ambiguity in this song is great. The feeling she is describing goes beyond gender or orientation- we have all felt what she is singing about.

Great story. This song paints the most wonderful picture. He is too innocent for her. Best song for a summer drive.

Fun fact: Chelsea Clinton is named after this song. Bill and Hillary must have been some romantic hippies.

Louis Armstrong – What A Wonderful World Lyrics 17 years ago
This song makes me cry like a baby. Cynical people can say what they want. As true as much of what they say is, the world is still wonderful. It is full of hope and more love than people may realize.

Idina Menzel – For Good Lyrics 17 years ago
We lost a close friend in the Virginia Tech Massacre. This song will always haunt me. She sang this at her senior choir concert. Her family played the recording of it at her memorial. We realized then the new meaning the song now had for us. I have been, indeed, changed for good.

Journey – Don't Stop Believin' Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is about never giving up on love. Everyone feels lonely sometimes. This song makes me think that every time I am sad or lonely there is someone else out there who might be lonely too and that someday we will meet. It sounds dumb I guess, maybe naive or hopelessly romantic but I think its true. I "hold on to that feeling" of hope all the time.

Andrew W.K. – Party Hard Lyrics 17 years ago
Music doesn't have to be technically awesome or incredibly well written. Sometimes its just about how it makes you feel. This song makes me happy. Life is short. Have fun while you can. Party hard.

Bobby Goldsboro – Honey Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is pretty hokey as far as songs go. I love it though, I think its very bittersweet. I'm not ashamed.

Tracy Chapman – Fast Car Lyrics 17 years ago
To me this song tells a story that many girls can relate to. She falls in love with a guy who has a cool car, maybe he isn't as poor as she is or maybe he is just as poor I don't know- but he poor. He takes her driving in his nice car and it makes her long for the finer things- a better life. They strive for this better life together, or at least it seems like it at first. After awhile he is just taking advantage of her and she realizes that the fast car meant stability when she was young and naive but a real man would stand by her and support her. I don't know if it makes any sense. Girls who live in poverty (or any girls in general I think) can be swept away by things like cars, etc., but it is only later when they realize things are less than ideal.

Its a lot like "where have all the cowboys gone" by paula cole

Joan Osborne – One Of Us Lyrics 17 years ago
G-d is everywhere and in everything. This song reminds us that in all of our dealings we are facing g-d in some way. It encourages us to reach out and be good to others because g-d could be with us and he could work through everyone.

This is what I think.

Sense Field – Save Yourself Lyrics 17 years ago
This song changed me for better. I never hear it on the radio anymore. They should really play it more often, many people could benefit from its message. I know the first time I heard it I was blown away. It was exactly what I needed to hear.

Fountains of Wayne – Prom Theme Lyrics 18 years ago
Oh this song makes me miss high school so much! It reminds me of one of the most exciting, bittersweet times of my life. This song is about what makes prom so wonderful- how awesome it is to get dressed up, dance and be with friends- to get drunk for the first time or go all the way for the first time- when everything is new and wonderful and life holds so many possibilities.

Death Cab for Cutie – What Sarah Said Lyrics 18 years ago
As a nursing student this song has great meaning to me. It often reminds me of Hospice patients I have cared for in the past. People often ask me how I can deal with all the death and I often reply with something similar to the line in the song "love is watching someone die". I feel like it perfectly explains to others the feelings in my heart of compassion and caring. Even if it is someone I barely know- I can show great kindness by giving them comfort and dignity in their end. I may not know who will watch me die- but I know that everyone deserves someone there holding their hand. If it has to be me, at least there is someone.

Beyond that part I totally agree with everyone else about pretty much everything about this song. It is amazing. So beautiful and powerful.
