USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) – Laces Out Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's about a chaotic relationship coming from of a one-night stand. "Nothingness is bliss when you shoot to miss" -- they're happy even with obvious issues from the start, because there were no high expectations.

Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics 16 years ago
Here's how I interpret the song: Kid A has become this major public figure, and there is some sort of international crisis breaking out. He has to be an example for the citizens -- telling them to evacuate, but don't panic, remember chivalry (Who's in a bunker?/Women and children first). He has to put on a facade for the media spotlight, and stifle his true feelings (I'll laugh until my head comes off, swallow till I burst). The line "here I'm allowed everything all of the time" is his sarcastic lament -- he is very rich and priveleged, but imprisoned in fame.

To me, it sounds as if Thom is projecting his own feelings towards stardom onto Kid A, not just in this song but throughout the whole album.

Radiohead – Bodysnatchers Lyrics 16 years ago
"You killed the sound
Removed backbone
A pale imitation
With the edges
Sawn off"

I can't really contribute to the rest of the song, but I have to say this verse perfectly describes the loudness war to me. Songs that are heavily compressed and limited literally have the "edges sawn off" -- the attack transients are crushed and limited in order to make music louder. Ironically, Bodysnatchers is very heavily compressed.

Just a thought.

Should be called the Kool-Aid Shop, cause you'd have to be fucking brainwashed to take it seriously.

Sam Roberts – The Canadian Dream Lyrics 17 years ago
I have a hard time taking this song literally. As a Canadian myself, I see the lyrics as more of a sarcastic jab at American misconceptions about Canada, as the line "frozen land, frozen minds, frozen hands and frozen time" is most certainly not the way that a Canadian would refer to our country -- it is much the opposite.
