From what I got out of it The caretaker that is in love with the dying is showing his depression: Because I'm leaving out words, punctuations, and it sounds pretty hollow- Feels helpless I've been living in bed because now you tell me to sleep - Sleeping to much b/c of the depression I've been hiding my voice and my face and you decide when I eat - Keeping himself consolidated from everyone else, his eating habits are destroyed. I believe that songs can mean differently depending on the person this song to me is translated as In a foreign place(they go to different colleges) The saving grace was the feeling That it was her heart that he was stealing(He hates the place he is at and she tells him if they were close they can be together) He was ready to impress And the fierce excitement The eyes are bright He couldn't wait to get away And I bet that Juliet was just the icing on the cake Make no mistake, no (She was the ultimate reason why he left, so he could be with her) And even if somehow he could have shown you The place you wanted(After he left and the plan was in order she changed her mind) Well I'm sure you could have made it that bit better on your own(She is very independent and decided she'd rather do her own thing rather than sharing any of it with him) And I bet she told a million people that she'd stay in touch(she said they could still be friends and talk and stay good friends) But all the little promises that don't mean much(Her promise didnt mean much to her she was just trying to make him feel better, she doesnt keep in touch) When there's memories to be made(she's in a new place where she wants to make memories w/new friends and decided they'd be better without him) And I hope you're holding hands by New Year's Eve(He just wants her to be happy even if its with someone else) They made it far too easy to believe That true romance can't be achieved these days(The rejection hits, he feels true romance is just to hard to attain in this modern age... its not like the black and white movies) And even if somehow they could have shown you the place you wanted Well I'm sure you could have made it that bit better on your own You are the only ones who know(He will never know the real reason why she changed her mind, just her and the new other) |

I think this song is about a relationship between him and a girl who is leading him on. They get together and its fine for awhile, but she doesnt see the relationship the way he does or wants it to be. but if you think i’m wasting your time again no, you’re wasting mine She thinks he waste her time when she doesnt have time for him but hangs with him anyways, or he is not her top priority like he would like him to be. now i’m just another split in your seam the i in your team She doesn't want a relationship aka "The I in your team" she doesnt want him to be a part of her life.
