I actually agree with heroicowl on this one. At first I thought it was Casey coming across the letters, but the lines "Oh how she cries from vicarious pain from the one he writes about Oh she must have been so sad for him to throw her out" gives out the fact that she definitely felt pain eventually. I simply think the first half of the song up until that line is Casey describing what she's thinking, but then he becomes a first person narrator, and sees her reaction to realizing it's her. And after that line is what she read to make her feel that pain. |

You can definitely tell he's in lust with just the thought of prostitution here. I'm not sure if it's towards Ms. Leading or not. But it's obvious that he wants her to feel terrible for living the life style that she lives. "Did it feel so good, hope it felt so good". I do think it's possible that it's Ms. Leading because of the line: "Cause you cant be caught red handed If your not red handed My darling I would never say those words to you" He could possibly be saying that he knows she is indeed red handed, and that he knows he could never deny the fact that she is. And he just hates it because he thought it was love, and he made that obvious with his heart on his sleeve. |

| This song is so well constructed. If Casey wasn't a musical genius, he'd have to be an author. On a psychological point of view, "Mimicking the matriarch" makes so much sense. Where Freud said that we are attracted to our Mothers (if you're a male), and the first person that reminds him of his mother, he falls in love with. | |
