i think that the song is about the progression of the human race. there are definitely some mythological gladiator references, and the song is saying that those heroes, no matter how great they were, died. and it's saying that the current greats should teach others how to lead because they too will fade away. and that a new generation of greats will always come forward to replace the generation before it like a never-ending story; thus the title "turn the page" |

i think it's about a person who is popular/well-liked, but they gained that status by adopting a personality which is different from his own. he has forgotten who he used to be and wishes that he could once again be the person he once was. but he does not want to give up his popularity. the box is where he put his old personality and basically is all the new trends and accessories that people buy so they can seem cool. it's probably also a statement against celebrities who try too hard to appear cool but lose the sense of who they really are in doing so. |
