When this song was written 20 years ago it was played live but never recorded and released, but this was the order it was originally in. The 2007 "Chrome Dreams II" version is in a different order though, true. |

Too kill off any speculation, who can explain the true meaning better than the man who wrote it himself - and conveniently enough, it's explained in his biography, "Shakey". The town in "north Ontario" is referring to Omemee, which is just north of Toronto, near Peterborough. Great song, even if it was stolen by CSN haha |

Neil wrote Southern Man and Alabama out of protest against racial prejudice and problems with the South. Lynyrd Skynyrd, being from the South themselves, wrote Sweet Home Alabama to basically say, "It's not all bad down here". The first verse of this song was a response to Skynyrd's song. |
