The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Crosstown Traffic Lyrics 18 years ago
In the chorus he (obviously) uses "crosstown traffic" as a metaphor for the girl saying that she's only slowing him down on his way to his destination or "the other side of town".

"And with you I can see a traffic jam straight up ahead" is saying he knows if he gets in a relationship with her she's going to tie him down and keep him from pursuing his career.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Stone Free Lyrics 18 years ago
My favorite lines are "They talk about me like a dog, talkin' bout the clothes I wear. They don't realize they're the ones who're square". He's saying that everyone is persecuting him for being different, but they're actually the one's who are "square" for all being alike and conforming to society's views.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Castles Made Of Sand Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree for the most part with you guys in regards to the first two verses, but in the third I disagree.

I think the girl kills herself which is why she's able to "jump and say", two things that are physically impossible for her to do. The "golden winged ship" symbolizes a glimmer of hope or happiness for the girl that there's still somethings in life worth living for but when it "kept on going" it seems as if it left her behind diminishing that idea.

He says "castles made of sand fall into the sea, EVENTUALLY". By saying "eventually" that means it WILL happen, you may be able to prolong it, but there is no way to avoid it in the end (perhaps a metaphor for life?).
