Awake And Dreaming – Miss Miserable Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm surprised no one has commented about this song. It's got a few familiar riffs in it that I really like.

The main lyrics play out the story of a girl who is hurting due to how she purposely drives people away by her "cold shoulders" and "cold words". The speaker keeps saying he doesn't feel sorry for her, yet the song in itself seems a contradiction since he seems to be trying to help her and he veils his affection with the line "no one really wants to see that" in regards to her pain.

Simple Plan – Take My Hand Lyrics 18 years ago
Pretty straight forward as marlee pointed out. It's all about a romance everyone said would not work out because of the problems that "everybody's got". He's telling her to forget about everything and everyone else, the past and the future, and focus on the here and now "tonight".

One thing though is the "One last time" implies an impending separation that's coming up. Thoughts?

Quietdrive – Take a Drink Lyrics 18 years ago
mmkg_28 makes some good points, but there were a few left out.

The major point of this song, I think, is that the speaker has come to realize that he has become a "part of the herd" as reinforced by "I guess I was, in case you haven't heard". This astounds him since he has always viewed himself as a very independent, unique person who didn't subscribe to the reality of the herd, who "always knew that two and two make three". The line "I never wanna see the smile again" states his dissatisfaction with his situation despite its comforts (smile, wish away the time).

This section:

I wanted to be two, but more than one
I only thought that I could be so dumb
Crush my heart with your new heels
I’d beg for you, but I don’t kneel
I understand that you were living there
It never bothered me that I don’t care

tells of how he changed into a part of the herd in order to "beg" the girl he likes to be with him (the two) since she lived in this world of the herd. The last line shows a change of attitude in that it is in the past tense, implicating that now he IS bothered by the shallow world she lives in and how he has changed in order to try and get her.

The whole chorus about taking a drink is so that he can introduce her to the true side of himself, the real side he's been hiding from the crowd. He doesn't think she'll accept him ("I don’t think you can cope with it / I don’t think you can handle it"), but as the ending shows ("I wanna spend some time to make you see") he really wants to try and bring her to his world.
