I think this song is about going insane, well about syd barret going crazy. ~Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.~ This talks about how he used to be so full of life, he used to be so full of energy, and how he is remembering him in this time, and now wishes he would go back to that time. ~Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.~ the look in his eyes referrs to being insane, how all the bullshit over the years, being so famous so early, all the drugs has pierced his soul and blackness and bullshit is just coming out of it, basicly its insanity. ~You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze.~ This talks about getting famous so young and how this can impact a person mentally. I think the steel breeze referrs to being a famous musician, hence steel breeze. Anyway he got blown onto being a famous musician, it wasnt really his choice, he was literaly blown there. ~You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.~ Yea i think this is talking bout saucerfull of secrest and DSOTM like someone said already. But then it also has a literal meaning as well, he reached for the secrets and this betrayed him, adding to his insanity, he wanted to know everything. Crying to the moon, well not to sure, maybe the moon is syd and he is crying inside himself. Treatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light. I think this is about taking drugs then not beign able to perform on stage. Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze. I think this talks about when he is famous, how his music is perfect *random precision* and now instead of being blown on the steel breeze he is riding it himself willingly. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine! I think this is just literal, talking about all syds qualities all his bullshit and just saying to be himself and shine, or make awsome music without going crazy. Well thats what i rekon anyway.. |

This song is about Kurt Cobain commiting suicide. If you ever read Scar Tissue by Anthoy Kiedis (lead singer of RHCP) then you would know this. The first time Anthony saw Kurt he was high on heroin and a frekin mess, but Anthony was amazed that this never impacted on his performance as a singer and guitarist. Anthony loved Kurt because he respected him for what he does and the music he made, thats where the love thing comes in, and Anthony was shocked so much by his death he needed to write a song to vent his feelings. |

This song feels like a journey to me. It starts with a little philoposy and then ventures into Anthony and fleas lives as teenagers living in L.A. Flea actually wrote the intro and outro to the song so this shows Flea did have a poet inside him after all since Anthony usually writes all the songs. Anyway the song is about doing things to get that deep kick, that ecstasy they needed, when love and music could bring them that same feeling, but it isnt untill Anthony is alot older does he truely realise this. Anyway everything in this song is real and they did it. I just love this song its one of my favourites. |

I think this song is talking about marijuana. Il give evidence for this. Katchafire is a reggae band and reggae like to smoke marijuana. Katchafire talk about marijuana alot in their songs.
