A boy asked me to prom by writing the word "Prom?" on a mix CD and giving it to me. This was the last track. I am in love with him. |

So many people can relate, no matter how you interpret it; it could be an old relationship, one strained by distance, etc. To me, it describes my relationship with a boy. We've never dated, agreeing on a "platonic" relationship because he's not into monogamy and I'm unwilling to consider the alternative. But we wind up together anyway, and it always causes problems. "Trouble," with his current hook-up, my disapproving friends, and disappointed hopes. We are addicted to each other, particularly on another's faults. Once, after a particularly heated dispute, we stopped talking. It probably would have ended there, but in a burst of inspiration/desperation I did something rather sappy. I found his (rather dirty) car in the parking lot and wrote the words "Brandy Alexander" on his rear windshield. He called me. We made up. So, yeah, this song holds a lot of meaning for me. |
