| this is a great opening song on easy tiger.. i think that its about forgeting the bad stuff in life.. and just getting through it and focusing on the positives.. it takes on the cliche "tomorrows a new day" -- "the sun will come up again, tomorrow" also on blue skys comment; i think the rose is just a symbol of significance not actually a person.. he uses it as a female figure in his songs-- alot of his songs are about dispair and misfortune with relationships and woman, i dont know if all of it actually has happened to him or if he sees it in his mind, thats why i feel it is a representation of female significance and thats why it is reoccuring in the lyrics as well as used in the cardinals symbol | |

my interpretation of it is that the character in the song (may be fictional) is longing for this one place (magnolia mountain) to help him with all his troubles... the repeating stanzas which start with "lie to me...etc." spell out the fact that hes trying to ignore his problems and "settle his soul" on magnolia mountain because he feels serenity there since his saviour built the place.. although i do believe its fictional-- someplace thats not actually real; fictional in his mind great song, lyrical genious |
