these lyrics are wrong: "And what is something worse" it should be "And what is worse", without the something. seriously, how would that fit? gah. this song is mind blowing and should be heard by all, especially the message of it. everything about this song is completely perfect. |

this song is so catchy and i adore the lyrics, especially: "Teach me to haggle I'll teach you to swim Get right back on the saddle Push me on a swing" and "i'll give you some yarn and you'll give it some spin" - it provides a huge sense of teamwork and compatability. i think this song is just simply about plain adoration for another person, and it's extremely cleverly written. |

i think this is my favourite song off of the con album. they're my favourite band. i agree with what people have said; i think it's about growing up and developing problems and her mother was the catalyst of the problems, or was of no sufficient help at these times. 'S.o.S. to my mother, take the hinges off the door' i think, implies that she kept a lot of stuff in, and 'take the hinges off the door' could be a metaphor for taking off the things which are holding up the door, and letting what is behind the door come out. i think this song is really about opening up, and maybe repairing a broken relationship with a mother. absolutely mind-blowing song. absolutely beautiful. |

| Pinback – Concrete Seconds Lyrics | 18 years ago |

one of my favourite songs in the worrrld. i think it may be about a person he has a crush on, or maybe an ex. i think, possibly, she is asking him to explain something that is so simple, it seems too simple to him. he maybe analysing the question and answer, therefore it's 'so easy' he 'can't explain it'. this would also explain the 'my laces are all knots', so it could be a metaphor. i would like to know what the last section of the song is about, the 'Here to my house In no seconds Count the footsteps Count the seconds Near my house... In no seconds Count the footsteps Count the seconds'. |

i really really like HenryClay's description. i also think that it's really original to write a song about a goldfish, if that is indeed what it's about. i imagine this song was written for people to interpret it as they choose, as many of pinback's songs are. they're one of my favourite bands due to their lyrics and their insanely catchy beats. oh, and it's 'para mi corazon', not 'me'. i adore the spanish that slips in, it's so effective. it helped me remember what a heart is in spanish, haha. could come in useful. |
