| i think this song is about someone who i guess is inside their home and in a hale of sparks and in a tangle of wires got electrocuted and now is dying slowly and realizing that dying isnt all he thought it would be or what he hoped it would be. when he says the right drapes the right paints the right frames this could really work. i think hes saying that if his home had these right things it would actually fit accordingly to him dying. so basically all hes describing is him dying but i guess in a way not knowing what it feels like since a sign of dying is feeling cold but asking if theres something wrong with the heat since he feels cold. | |

one of my faves. i think this song is about dallas's life on the road and the effect it has on his relationship. basically, his gf left him not to get away from him so much but just to get away for a while.. or so he likes to think. and although things are kinda weird between them as she finds herself or figures things out he hopes it doesnt take her too long to figure things about because he just wants to be with her. also that he's been able to finally tell her how he feels but hopes its not too late for her to still feel the same way. and the three months equals eternity i'm guessing means the amount of time hes on the road and how that can feel like eternity when you're away from the person you love. and that he realizes that when she asks if he loves her that he should say yes before she doesnt ask that anymore but hesitates maybe because he doesnt completely feel that way or hes afraid of telling her how he feels. but despite it all he just wants to hold her after being away from her for a long time |

this is actually the first song from city and colour i heard and i fell in love. the first verse i interpret as that he sees the way people are or go about their lives or deal with situations or react to things. and dallas sees this and gets so caught up in how people wrongfully do things he doesnt see or realize he's maybe just as bad as they are. and the second part of the verse hes saying that he has a bad temper or hes somewhat of a time bomb at times but despite those flaws underneath it hes a sensible person and thats the person alot of people dont see. the second verse i think hes saying that hes no king. basically saying hes not a person of great importance or with huge problems like a king might deal with. but despite not having to deal with those problems and just being a normal person he still weakens over small things and it really gets to him. the last part of the verse hes simply stating that he just hopes one day he can finally trust himself and whats inside him to finally let everyone see his true self.. his sensible heart i guess you can say. |

| well.. my interpretation of this song is basically that theres this person who believes or believed in god but through his own questioning realized that he doesnt exist. that line that asks "... why do you have doors to close?".. i guess it refers to how they say heaven has doors or gates. like that song "knockin on heavens door". basically.. hes asking if heaven or god is so gracious, forgiving and peaceful and what have you, why would they have a door in the first place to close. so.. yeah.. basically.. he's asking or saying if there is a god and heaven or some better place then why are things the way they are. and when he says that line about realizing it was his own voice instead of gods i think kinda means that his prayers were never really answered by god but it was just him realizing he was just talking to himself and no one was there to listen or guide him. a song about a man losing his faith. | |
