To extend the mythological references:
The twin gods Eros and Eris are both referenced, I think. Eros (better known as Cupid) shoots arrows to create love. Eris is the goddess of "discord".
I don't think the song is a comprehensive analogy to any one thing in particular, more of an amalgamation of various Biblical, mythological, and folklore references synthesized to make a lovely, thought-provoking song. |
