Amy Winehouse – Rehab Lyrics 14 years ago
Well, I am the one who have heard about Amy Winehouse because of the media talking about her death. I remember this song as I have heard it on a radio many times but just recently I paid attention to it.

Song for me is great.

My first impression is like that: she has some substance abuse related problems so they want her to go for some therapy or sth. And she is like - no way, I am not going. So it sounds great for me as you can hear quite often that you should work on yourself, change this or that, improve yourself and all this BS. Plus as they say there aren't people mentally ill and normal but only not assessed. :) So for me it means like - no way, you won't have any control of my life. My life, my problems - watch you own nose.

Iggy Pop – The Passenger Lyrics 15 years ago
Well, what I have learned about it - it is inspired by some poem by Jim Morrison.
There is a relation from a concert when he puts a little light for all the people who like to think more about lyrics. Maybe he didn't thought much about it as it occurs that he was really high on drugs when he had written it but it isn't as it was meaningless.

He said - that it is about being a passenger in life - not really having much influence on it, lack of means, knowledge or whatever, so the only thing what you can do (when you cannot actually steer your life) is to be like passenger who can only watch through the windows, meet everything he experiences etc. So it is as if this song was written for teenagers or people feeling like this - that they don't have much control in their lifes and the only thing they can do is to wait "look through the mirror".

I think the song is about having fun and seeing wonderful things if we really see that in life you do what you do instead of you wanna do, choose to do, plan to do etc. Noticing beauty of this life, this world..

Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics 17 years ago
Whatever you say - for me it is great. I do not know a lot of Metallica myself but I like this album. And this songs lyrics are great too. It is totally amazing. I thought that Metallica should have lyrics like: ... i gonna kill you / kill your mother / kill you father ... etc.

I like the part:
"Open your heart
I'm beating right here
Open your mind
I'm being right here"
I believe it is the part of the person who wants to get to this kid.

I Hate Myself – Conversation With Dr. Seussicide Lyrics 17 years ago
I like it the most, but maybe not about the lyrics, but the mood. Whole song is sang with characteristic voice and with music is so melancholic. I was looking for such as song for a long time. Most of so called 'emo' songs are screamed all the time so I can't barely realise what they are about. So much emotions in whole song length doesn't make the same impression as here when it is once calm, once strong. As the singer emphasis some things, express them - so to tell something, not only to scream.

Actually I am writting all this under very calm song, but this is my most favourite. Just can't stop listen to it.

I almost started to like their hole album. And now - the song inspirated by Godzilla movie, which I hate. (HATE, actually). I understand the person is in very big depression and lack of sense in life that he is watching Godzilla movies. Fortunetly I can ignore it.

Marilyn Manson – The Nobodies Lyrics 17 years ago
The rhytm section is amazing.

The meaning? I found probable two.

One, that it refers to columbine tragedy, but not only - to every situation that a murderer becomes famous. In the same news people are talking about politics, changing the situation, doing something positive, and side by side are put information about X.X. who killed so many people and killed himself.
So if one consider himself as worthless, he wants to end his life in so 'spectacular' way. Just to be noticed.

And my own interpretation. Nowadays for most teens is common a rat race. Also for me. So we are nobodies for now. We have not got a wonderful CV or achievements. And we want to become somebodies. In any way. But actually we don't have to be a ones that manage to do this. The road is hard and full of traps. And sometimes we may feel that we don't manage to do it. And is going to care about it. And this song express this feeling.

Ok. I admit that my interpretation is totaly different from Manson wanted to tell. But actually it moves me more - I just don't care for massacres. Life is what we are doing every day, such morbid things happens very rarely and always some far... far away.

The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics 18 years ago
Methinks that they do sound like Arctic Monkeys. Does every new british groups play that way?

Anyway, very nice song. I like them much better than depressing Joy divission. Nothing, but only sad and suicidal songs instead of energy which for example every wombat has got.

Tokio Hotel – Schrei Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that saying on such us forums that you hate something and telling why, gives a lot of pleasure. Not only to me. Especially when someone cares about it.
Becouse previews persons could beg to putting some wider then on this exactly song, I also would like to put here my opinion.
I like them becouse of very straight, direct lyrics. When I read some of them I couldn't wait to hear them. And here I have disappointed. I expected something heavier. The band which rocks.
Instead I found a bit moody, a bit melodious songs.
But I like to hear them becouse of two things:
1. I didn't like to learn german. It changed. It is first german group, whoes lyrics I want to understand.
2. The lyrics are beautiful. really I like them.

The band's appearence. Hmm. My mp3 player doesn't support showing images, not mentioning more complicated media.
The thing I don't like about them is that they trying to appear as some sensitive, straight-edge boys, but they leader slept with so many girls, I think he himself doesn't remember. I think I am old stylisch :(

Marilyn Manson – Putting Holes in Happiness Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that song is great, but lyrics not necesserly...
However I have got some lines I like the best:

"Putting holes in happiness
We’ll paint the future black
If it needs any color"

It looks for me so pesymistic and depresive.
And also:
" At least deathwish will come true"

Let say I am not a very happy person when I listen to this music. But then I am in good mood after it.:)

Marilyn Manson – Inauguration Of The Mechanical Christ Lyrics 18 years ago
Hi.
I am not a Marylin Manson believer ( Katana_Arm)
buy I like his music, not necesarily his texts. However I found a few lines which I like very much. But this song beats everything.
When I listen to it i try to imagine what is happening. And this is not manson on any kind of cross, cos I haven't seen any of his showes. I imagine some mechanical monstrum; mean, great, but in some kind sad and invalid. Who showes off. Then I hear the crowd from where it was showed. and then his voice telling this bitter words:
"This is not me, i am not mechanical"
I got two interpretations:
First one is: mechanical, means to me something artificial, man-made. And people prey to god which isn't really the god they believe. And the words Manson is singing, he try to say that we shouldn't look for god in TV, or in any other commercial-made things. Song occurs to me to be quite religious.

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics 18 years ago
Definitely song is about nothing new to say - everything has been said. And things like sex, rebel & so on are things which people find interesting. That is why it is easy to sell it in every amount. The song is the critic of what people want to find, or what they think about such as 'hardcore' artists, which Manson tries to be. And it is for years the same... boring.

that is my opinion. Don't you agree? Well, f*** you!

My Chemical Romance – Teenagers Lyrics 18 years ago
Before I start: I think that there is:
"So darken your clothes and
strike a violent pose"

And I am wondering if it's not:
"with all the lies and the books"

This song is the best I have ever heard. It is catchy, has the power and has got a clever lyric.

At the beginning I thought that the song was some kind of anthem for school-masacres or maybe just for teenage rebel. But of course I listened it more than once.

So step by step:

"They gonna clean up the looks,
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you "

They - parents, teachers - don't want you to be individual, they don't care about understanding you, or acceptating you as you are, but want to make another noble citizen out of you. No matter if you like to or not, no matter how you feel about this, and about their methods.
So you must look like they want and even think like they want. Like a programmable robot.
I want to make the point that they don't respect you at all.

"Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you son
so they can watch all the things you do "

And here is example of their methods. Gun is kind of symbol of their power, which is so strong that you can't free yourself. You are always under control.

"Because the drugs never work
They gonna give you a smirk
'Cus they've got methods of keeping you clean"

Here I am not sure about the drugs. I believe it means, that drugs you try to take, doesn't give you a relief from the negative feelings caused by this situation. I wondered if verse:
" they gona give you a smirk" > isn't actually
a 'parents' part. That they show how they are proud of themself, how little can you do to escape their plan. I believe it means that drugs doesn't work becouse a short relief is only illusion which quickly passes, what hurts even more. And of course, they can control you, and they do - to every slight part of your life.

"Their gonna rip up your heads,
Your aspirations to shreds,"

So it is very clear after what I have written: nobody even care to understand you, becouse they only want you to be like them want you to be. Even your aspirations doesn't count. It is about very objective treatment of young people, by school and even by parents, who mainly have a good intentions. But as we now: road to hell is cobbled with good intentions.

"Another cog in the murder machine"

Just: system has you. You are not the first one, not the last. So your situation is quite tragic.

"They said all
Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So darken your clothes,
Or strike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
But not me"

Whole part is a 'parents' part. And it says how teenagers are concearned as a dangerous
age-group.
They are very selfish and care only for themself. Don't want to see the consequences of this what they are doing, so they do not realise that they do something wrong until something won't hapen.

Teenagers are concearned as a agrresive goup becouse they are afraid of life challenges and feeling unconfortable about being controlled and on, and on marked(agression is mostly caused by feeling scare and unselfconfident). That is way they try to look violent and scary. But I think that part about darkening clothes and making a pose is
ironic and says, that even if you do, we will be still near to support you. Quite warm ending of confession.

"The boys and girls in the clique,
The awful names that they stick,
Your never gonna fit in much kid"

You try to fit in to the teenager group which istn't friendly at all. "The awful names ..." . I think it is some snob grup which exists only to put down kids who "never gonna fit in"

"But if your troubled and hurt,
What you got under you shirt,
Will make em pay for things that they did!"

Revenge! For the whole pain and humiliation you had to bear. But I got two possible meanings. Obviously it is a gun, or knife. But this revenge can be also cutting yourself or even commit a suicide to rock them all. Show what they did to you. Where they brought you to.

The second part add to chorus another reason for teenager stress: lack of acceptance from peers and bulling.

Comparing in this short song, two points of view:
of parents and teenagers, it shows how in fact they both do not understand each other. And we can try to say who is right. I think the parents are right becouse they really care about teenagers, on the other hand, teenagers are right becouse they are much more sesitive and are in one of the most difficult moment of their lives. Older people just forget how it was when they were younger, and misunderstand their feelings and needs.

At the end I only add:
I love this song becouse is very true, and I can agree with every word it says.
I still think it is teenage- rebel song.
