I agree with it being about celebs and media. first verse: about how what celebs do is made into things its not (mountains of molehills spots on a tiger)and that we want to know everything they do so much we will sell ourselves to get that info. (Sticklers for cheap fun, you oughta be ashamed to trade in your heirlooms. For an all day black market parade) and the (grand prize a slap in the face) line strikes me to be about how frustrated the celebs get that eventually they will strike back eg: russel crowe is in the spotlight a lot for attacking the media but think about it how in his face do they get when u look at the footage on the news? the chorus to me: (Still frame, no dice. Where do you get your evidence? Move now, stay still, it takes a luminescent hue. The wood, the crest that's weaved outside your vest. Still frame, no dice) seems to talk about how desperate the papparazi are to get that killer shot so much that they will stop and wait and move on when the avenue is exausted and the (the wood the crest thats weaved outside ur vest) seems to me in one way or another to be about that the media even goes to the length of hiding cameras in boxes or on the jackets to get those shots. the next verse to me goes back to the celebs and that even at night they have no peace and to escape the media (the loons light up the skyline) they sleep on the floor or on concrete or wherever they can find some solace and that they are so haggard that they just try to sleep with their eyes open and fade into their own private world where noone can get them constantly. then it goes back to the chorus again :D and finally the part about the shark on the hill, most of the time in the news ppl who take advantage of ppl or are just void of sense or feeling are called sharks. such as lawyers and the media!!!! a shark on the hill is again the paparazzi getting a good vantage point. and the long drive line just strikes me to be a metaphor for life as a long journey and that as a celeb being in the public eye from such vultures all the time takes its toll and all they need is a rest to be able to think clearly and recover just to be normal ppl again. thanks for reading hope this seems plausible.:D |
