i think some of these comments are so shallow. its not about getting dressed so you dont have sex. at all. i at first thought it was about another outlook at love. misrable and old..instead dying in love and not alone. the girl he is singing to is absolutly confused of whether or not love is a good thing or a bad thing. he's trying to talk he into love, with him. but she cant decide. shes making it bad for him.. thats what the chorus is saying. is she sure she doesnt want this? is she possitive? and if she keeps it up and never tries then this is how it will always be. miserable. i love this song its my favorite. thats my outlook on the song and even if im off.. its not about sex. |

I think this song is has death written all over it. When I was reading the lyrics, thats the first thing that popped into my head: "This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us It's time to make a move, I'm shaking off the rust I've got my heart set on anywhere but here I'm staring down myself, counting up the years" & when it says, steady hands just take the wheel. Also, in the music video, he is leaving a funeral. The man has lost someone he, indeed, holds extremely close to his heart and is now devistated from the loss. He wants to leave and start over. He wants to forget. Everything about where he is is cold. |

First of all there are two reasons people hurt themselves: 1. that is their only way of letting pain out. its their way to cry. 2. because they dont necassarly do it for the attention, but a cry for help. This song is talking about a girl who maybe wants to commit suicide, "Out here on the ledge,I'm not far away from stepping off" the cloud she is referring to is surrounded by air, as if she feels free. Just like the second reason people hurt themselves, because its a cry for help, she meets someone who wants to help her. In the genious part, she is exclaiming that she wants him to make her beautiful with all these things...and then maybe shell rethink leaving. Thats how i view this song. |

to me, this song is talking about a girl this boy has been watchin from a distance for a while. he saying that this worlds gunna try to eat you from inside out. person by person. a "hand me down" you could say. he is saying that when she gets to him, everything will be alright. the second verse is saying that the people passing her on are taking this girl and giving her what she believes she deserves. by the end of this song, i see this man finally saying that shes with him now, and its alright because hell hold her up when she begins to fall. This song is beautiful. Its a very hopeful song for girls who are tired and need someone to help them up. Its saying one day theres going to be truth. |
