i am in LOVE with this song. the first line... "making love to a picture frame one more time tonight" between the sound of adam's voice and the way it combines with the piano in these lyrics, these words really get to me every time. it's like....perfection. anyways...the meaning? he's found a girl unlike any other. forget his ex-lovers and the player he once was; now he's found what he truly wants. this girl has an amazing power over his emotions (ie: "And I'm so terrified of leaving It's a new low Try and pick me up again but Let go see how far i get without you") i don't think he HAS this girl COMPLETELY, but SHE has him. she's changed him. |

you can't really complicate the meaning of "Apologize". it's simple. girl breaks up with guy. guy's world comes crashing down. girl realizes her horrible mistake, comes back to guy. turns out, the guy can't forget what she did, and he has more pride than to come crawling back to her. when it comes to love, i think onerepublic does an amazing job of putting emotions into music and lyrics. listening to these songs, it's like i can actually relate to and experience the feelings they're conveying. it's beautiful, really. |

this song reminds me of my past, in a way. i didn't actually love the person, but pretty close. the singer is talking to someone lonely and brokenhearted who can't let go of what they had. at one point, they loved someone, and they had something they thought was really special. now, that lonely person just can't forget or let go. the singer has probably been there too. unlike the person they're singing to, the singer has learned from his past. he knows that in order to get on in life and be happy once again, your basic dependence must only lie in yourself. while the singer feels love is a good thing, and you should enjoy it while you have it, you can't hold on to it when it's just not there. |
