this song shreds me to pieces. many people do think the ramones have no clue, and only sing about .. well.. punk-ish things. what they don't know, is that they made music so much more than just taking something shitty and celebrating it.. in fact, they took that and made it something beautiful. though, i'm pretty sure johnny wasn't a big fan of the more pop-ish songs from the ramones, during the while that joey was.. i do hope them along with dee dee have found their place. |

this song truly describes my life.. those things.. that are in this "nice dream" are really the things our "friends" don't do for us.. we might even do it for for them, but they never really return the love. just like high and dry, this song really can describe the friends who won't remember you. |

i agreee with anemptyroon.... i have this song live performed by elliott smith and also i have it from new moon and heatmiser version too :] i used to go to sleep with this song... the lyrics are beautiful... in such a beautiful song, why are so many people fighting in the comments??! i'd wish to tell you all to keep your discriminative comments to the least, because when you see somebody who appreciates the good music act like this around it, it's huge shame to everyone. |

| this one's a slow, but very pleasant song. especially when the piano kicks in at the middle. what i noticed in a lot of hotel light songs (maybe not this one in particular) is that darren jesse makes the lyrics a little hard to follow unless you know them. for example, he may be in the middle of a phrase/sentence and he will pause and continue after the instrumental solo... but hotel lights is an absolutely great indie band :) | |

even before reading mhash1015's story, i had always thought that it could not only fit a love song, but also a song about a child who had died at birth or before... but it is a very emotional thought... not many people appreciate beautiful songs like this one ;_; |
