I feel like this song is about the narrator and a girl. The narrator is breaking off an engagement, which is made obvious by the train nullifying the ring. The train could represent his desire to travel, or to see the world. He seems to be leaving her because he is afraid of commitment, as stated in the chorus, he is never going to seal the deal, he has made no commitment. Also, it seems that the woman loves him, but he clearly doesn't think there is enough relationship to work for, hence the wrestling of the dove. Also, the poison pill could refer to the actual phone call which is made to tell her that it's over. He wanted her to do it, but she wouldn't break it off after a year so he is ending it. |

I love it, on every song some douche bag comes and either calls it too dumb, or too pretentious. Keep your worthless opinions to yourself. If you don't like the singing, songwriting, or whatever else, don't listen; and please, please, don't write boring long winded reviews. |
