I always thought of it as if he's thanking her for all the things she does for him. Especially "Crying out Loud" Not the expression, the actual meaning of the words. Letting him in and letting him know what she's feeling. |

My Mom had the Bat Out of Hell tape and when she was in the mood and in the car alone for long enough she would play it (and others that are burned into my memory) So I don't know the first time I heard it. It's just part of me. I do remember when I didn't know what it ment. hahaha About the time I learned that all those words you sing in a song mean something I figured it out pretty quick LOL

Whatever, I've heard some awesome interpretations. To me it's simply a guy who, obviously rides a motorcycle, (Not a sissy bike either a kick ass, LOUD, fast motorcycle.) and the girl in his life is "the only thing [in his life] that's pure and good and right." The girl could be a metaphor for his bike but I don't think so. And he crashes (awesome part of the song climax then soft build up again) while he is distracted by her and dies. It is simply an awesome song and album. Not really into the rest of Meatloaf for some reason it couldn't top Bat Out Of Hell and it was anticlimatic for me. |

You guys kill me. You don't realize that music is for the listeners. If the writer didn't want some people to think this song was about Vampires he would have worded it differently. So say it's about the rape/murders in Texas. It definately screams Vampireism as well. If it's written about one think spins can be put on it to mean MORE THAN ONE THING> |

I wanted a string of pearls from my then boyfreind and he got the necklace, earrings and bracelet. I'm in the military and when one of my guy frineds asked what I got for my birthday I told him a "Pearl Necklace" it wasn't until he said "KINKY" and got that devilish grin on his face that I even realized it was slang. It was too funny. |

I had a bad break up and the guy played all kinds of mind games with me and screwed with my self confidence. He also isolated me from my friends(it's a long story) This song came out about the time I realized how screwed up he was and he was making me. I went back to my friends and because that's how they are they took me back with arms and stereos wide open. This song was the one they played. So to me it's like I'm the stronger one now and there's nothing your low-life a** can do about it because I've taken what you did to me and made myself stronger, Now you'll need a miracle if you mess with me again and a prayer that you find someone else that was as good to you as I was, in bed and in putting up with all your sh**. |
