I really love this song.. Can't describe why. It exemplifies the comfort that the song about through the singing, lyrics, music. Almost celebratory in the fact that the main character is so grateful for the mercy of this person's actions.. Even though they are probably unaware of what they are doing. |

I don't know why I like this song.. Perhaps when I listen to it I like to put me as the girl and an ex as the guy and that makes me feel better. Haha. Mature, I know.
But seriously the meaning of this song is pretty straightforward. This girl left this guy, and the guy was stone-hearted about it at first, but realizes how much he needs her, or how much she meant to him, and he can't keep his cold composure. |

I love this line. The maturity of this song is so different compared to mainstream media. These two people are parting ways... If this was a relationship, honestly it takes quite a character to not be bitter about it. This song I almost look to, to get that mature mindset if I ever get bitter about someone. Otherwise, if its just two people parting ways.. A very positive and encouraging song. Very very nice. |

I think this is a song about how the guy in the relationship didn't own up to his mistakes, and now he's regretting it and he's angry about it. He is wishing how he had explained himself or admitted his mistakes to the girl.. Give reasons why they had to break up. He is wishing they had talked about it so he had some peace of mind. |

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was a little lost on what the song was about. One thing that surprises me is that the guy in this song doesn't seem too bummed out about how they had to break up. Yeah, "it'll be burned in my mind for a million years"... But otherwise it's pretty much like "ok we had this thing but since realistically it wont work out I'm not gonna be upset about it". Hmm, I don't know. Either way, the chorus gets stuck in my head so easily.. I really like this song! I just wished it was a little more straight forward haha. |

This song is so beautiful. The guy in this song is so in love with this girl, he wants to be his very best for her. "I'll try to be that kind of man, because you love me like I am". The girl views him as this wonderful person, whether he thinks of himself in that way or not, he is promising her he will live up to what she thinks of him.
This song is so tender in its message. I love songs when the guy is opening up to the girl in such a way. Mmm. :) |

By "it's more than love she makes"... Whether or not that's sexual, its an indescribably deep love. "She goes all the way".. She completes him. She doesn't half-satisfy his desire for love (whether emotional or physical), she is the half that makes him whole.

Fondly known as the "Batman Song" from my younger years... I always associate this song with Batman, regardless if they are related or not, haha. From scanning over the other interpretations, I highly doubt it's about drugs. Yes, I believe it is comparing this woman's love to a drug addiction.. But like what E_Kwelity said, why would they put a song about drugs on the Batman soundtrack? Either way.. This song is definitely a song I'll always remember.
And I was so excited to hear Chris Sligh sing this song for his American Idol auditions. Haha.. Instant fan! |

This is one of my favorite songs... Regardless if he wrote the song or not (going off of LostPostcard's comment), it's true and everyone can relate. My favorite line, "stayin' up all night just to write a love song for no one". You're in love but you just don't know with who yet.. Which I find an amusing concept.. simply because it's so true! I often listen to this song when I want to be put in a good mood. I particularly like this song because it's about being alone and wanting someone, but it's not one of those "poor me" songs.. And the lightheartedness of the song makes it all the more enjoyable. |

I love this song.. definitely fun to jam to. The clever lyrics and the singer's voice really make this a unique song. My favorite line has to be "put my tender heart in a blender and watch it spin round to a beautiful oblivion".. What it means to me is that heartbreak can be beautiful, in its own painful way. Very poetic in my opinion! |
