this sounds to me like one night an expecting mother and father had a hushed pillow-talk conversation about what would happen to the child(ren) if one or both of them were to suddenly die, and they both feel the deep weight of this task they have taken upon themselves, and they wonder if they are able and strong enough, or if they will live long enough to see everything come to fruition. this becomes stuck in the father's mind, and he dreams lucidly that night, seeing his child grow and become a man as he leaves his own body and watches from the other side of death. seeing the whole picture, he knows that all that he and his lover can do is try their best, and know that his children will be who they want to be - "the influence is relative".
i could be talking shit, but all i know is that i love animal collective even more than i love the pixies and modest mouse. that nothing calms me, yet makes me want to tear shit up more than the noises that come out of them. fucking...life-giving. |
