Personally I think it's Jesse talking about how the music style of Brand New has changed. It seems like he's singing to the old music and himself at the same time. The chorus appears to be him wanting to change Brand New's sound but he's never really been able to do it. So now he's trying to "follow through" and he is ending what he invented. In their first two albums, most of the topics are "teenage tragedy". And instead of making music that could touch people on a mental and emotional level they make self pity-ing songs. That's just what it seems to me. |
