i so agree with swimminginsundrop. coeerect me if im wrong, after Jesus' death he appeared to his diciples while they were fishing and they didnt recognize jesus. kind of like in the song where the singer didnt know who the fisherman was. and then the singer turned back around to notice the fisherman was gone. |

I like the part: And when I fell asleep it plagued my dreams, and 30 bits of glass that become my teeth
They will break and each and everytime I fall asleep it's freaking me out...
A lot of times people have dreams that their teeth are breaking or falling out. I have those all the time, it really scary. It freaks me out! haha ;). It usually means that they have an insecurity or something. |

To me...the chorus is saying how people think that they all have it good in life with out god and they think that they can make it in life by themselves. but someday its not going to be so good. you need to have a strong realtionship with christ though the think and thin. |

| Capital Lights – Worth As Much As A Counterfeit Dollar Lyrics

"Throw the dirt and leave the path feet covered up so we don't know you're there" reminds me of psalms 119:105. thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. i think that this saying who someone is hiding christ and his word from the world and is hiding that he is a christian.
"hold your breath until your heart stops beating" a lot of times, christian artists use breathe or breath as a symbol of a realtionship with christ or praying and reading the bible. I think that they are explaining how someone's relationship with christ is fading and their spirital heart is stopping.
thats all i really get from the song. let me know if you think what i said was wrong or right or if you know anything else about the song. thanks =] |

I agree with surfnut and l-kyne. its kind of like what you see on tv when some one has a secret and they are held prisoner and they will only tell the secret so they don't get tortured and so he can escape. you see that stuff a lot on the show 24. haha
Then, i got to thinking, maybe its about how christians will keep god a secert. they're too afraid to say their opinion cuz they're afraid of what the world will say (You're going to need permission
To have your own opinion. When the bosses frown...)
i don't know i guess theres a lot more to it. i could be totally wrong. |

I love this song. its my favorite. It seems like theres more meaning to all of their music, than just a boy and a girl in a relationship or finishing one. I'm kind of tired of everyone saying that thats what all the music is about. It might be about that, but i think its al lot, lot, lot deeper than just that. |

I think this song reminds me of Matthew 7:24 -27
"Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined." |
