Hmm. I think this song is about his religious struggles. On wikipedia, it says that Phil is a Christian, and you can interpret almost all of the songs on this album as being religious or talking about religion (my opinion). Anyways, I think this song is about him struggling to do what is right and to not go back to his old ways. I think in the chorus he's talking about how he still feels God in him and is saying that He isn't far, so he will try not to do wrong. Just my opinion Completely agree with you there. |

lol, internet arguments are so pathetic and funny at the same time. The song can be interpreted in more than one way and it still makes sense. Depending on the situation I'm in, I've taken it both as being about a strong relationship with both a person and God, and both times it applied well. Anyways, I do think it was written to be about God. Amazing song. |
