It sounds religious to me... the "turn to the light that is burning in the night" bit and all I quite like the "I know what I want, and say what I want, and no-one can take it away" bit... good stuff. Iron Maiden isn't as heavy as the stuff I usually listen to... but I still like it |

AWESOME song But why the hell does it bring to my mind Plastic Surgery? All that about "you can alter you image, diversify your look, but the truth seems like a bitchslap in your face" and "be careful what you call reality" makes me think the song's about plastic surgery |

I would basically sum up Cthulu Dawn by saying "Apocalypse" Darkday: Cradle of Filth lyrics aren't that easy to understand even for some native English speakers. I have no idea about that line. I think I did, a little while ago, but I've forgotten/can't be stuffed remembering. Sorry. |

Thats an interesting take on this song, DavidSpoon. I agree with you in some parts, and it's given me more to think about. It is also, in my opinion, about some artists and art, perhaps what they think? (Heironymous) Bosch and Brueghel are old artists, whose works could be called "dark oils"... they paint metaphorically dark scenes in oils. Bosch painted a triptych called "The Garden of Earthly Delights" in which one panel was titled "Hell", and Brueghel painted "The Triumph of Death". I don't know who Gova is (could somebody please tell me?) but I assume he is an artist similar to Bosch and Bruegel. That's what I've decided about the song, I've not gone deep into analysing it, but those are the bits that strike me... and of course, the bit about the raping of nature, self-explanatory, as DavidSpoon says. Cradle of Filth is the best fucking band ever. |
