just because the band says it means this or that it doesnt mean people arent allowed to interpret it their own way every song is open or interpretation there is no right or wrong meaning for a song, there is only an original meaning which is why the band wrote it i understand all 3 of the meanings, the whole relationship thing, the band/friends thing, and the sibling thing at first when i heard this song ages ago i thought it was about a relationship, it meant to me that, no matter how hard the relationship is, youll always love the person youre with, no matter how many fights, or even if you break up, its what true love is and the whole band/friends interpretation is so true. im in a band right now and its natural for bands to argue. band arguements are the reasons bands continue, if you get what i mean. its good for bands to argue so everyone has their say, and they all come out stronger and closer. if they didnt argue everything would bottle up until one point where someone just cracks |

i think its about global warming and how "we've never seen this kind of world, its a warning to us all", we should do something about it and prevent it going worse in the future "we played the lead role with a lack of education and pay a price we'll never know our future's been sold" we, humans, have played the lead role to this destruction, because of our lack of education and ignoring the signs that have been there for so many years, and now we are too far into it, we know what will happen to our future, global warming going worse. "cause when it all comes crashing down - down from above there will be no salvation is there anything that can save us - from ourselves" i think this is talking about, how when everything is finally ruined, there wont be any salvation and we cant save us from ourselves, because weve all contributed to global warming. yeah thats just my opinion i respect soty so much, they write about so meaningful things |

this is how i interpret the song; though there may be many interpretations of it and tom will only know the true meaning of it "With an urgent, careful stare, I see panic in those eyes If I see you lying there, Hoping this was the last time If you hear a distant sound, And see footsteps by your side. I will find you if you hide." -this section is describing a person who feels like they want to give up on life, "panic in those eyes", "lying there", "hoping this was the last time", "world comes crashing down" and that person is about to attempt suicide. "If you wish it, wish it now. If you wish it, wish it loud. If you want it, say it now. If you want it, say it loud." -this section is about regrets, if you wish that you didnt do the thing you had done, "wish is now and wish it loud", and also "say it now and say it loud" the switch from "wish" to "say" is meaning that, dont always keep things in your mind and to yourself "wish", talk to someone always if you have a problem "say". "We all make mistakes. Heres your lifeline If you want it, I want to. We all make mistakes. Here's your lifeline You know that I want to" -this says that, no matter what trouble you get into, no matter how bad it is, that remember that everyone makes mistakes, and there will always be someone there, (best friend, etc), that will be your lifeline, so you should never give up. Feel the strength as we touched the sky." -this talks about heaven, "theres a field", meaning heaven, "near the dream" for many people heaven is a dream awaiting to be seen "i watched us all reach out and read, feel the strength as we touched the sky" he is basically saying that, everyone can reach out to heaven, no matter what mistakes you have done as long as you have the strength to actually reach out to it (repent your mistakes). I will take you for a ride." -"if you hear a distant sound, thats my footsteps by your side" there will always be someone, no matter how close or how far "if you feel like coming round, i will take you for a ride" -someone will always be there to take you and guide you through the ride which is life. "You know that I want to" -someone will always want to help you out no matter what condition you are in to finalise it; this song is basically about never giving up on life dont always think that what you have done is bad and conclude suicide as a result to fix it because suicide only leads to more pain everyone deserves a second chance as long as they are up for it this, rite of spring, and sirens are my favourite songs off the album a truly great one; cant wait til they come to australia |

I'm feeling the pain Of my first love I let it go... can't let go" this part of the song always touches me its so lovely and beautiful and its amazing how tom comes up with these lyrics i picture this as, a girl with the guy and the guy is extremely nervous "im feeling the shake and the sound of my heartbeat" and that they broke up, and years later he still feels strong love for her "im feeling the pain of my first love" and the "cant let go" is pretty straight forward because a persons first true love is truly one special one whether it be they stay together or separate from eachother they will still always feel that love deep inside in their heart i feel this way; its been five months since me and my gf broke up and this song helps me get through it, and lets me know that many people feel similar their music is just beautiful and can relate to anyone |

some of the song is a girls perspective of a break up and some of the other parts is a boys perspective of a break up as is states they were best friends when they were together "all i want is to be just friends understand, but dont hate her" -the girl broke up with the boy, because all she wanted now was to be friends, but the boy had extremely strong love for this girl, and he got hurt alot, so now he hates her, and the girl is basically asking dont hate me. "Feeling sings No strength in me Im sorry, my love for you is gone My love is gone" -the first line is wrong, its "feelings change" the girl is basically trying to explain, that all feelings change, and she couldnt help it that her love for him drifted away. "Honesty is all We make mistakes i know And I knew something's wrong I couldnt lead you on" -the girl is saying that, she just wanted to be honest, that it was a mistake to go out with her best friend, him, and that as soon as she knew her feelings changed, she didnt want to lead him on otherwise he would get hurt even more. "Night is over Orange haze has Filled my eyes again Shes not perfect Im still feeling Weak inside when shes around Well don't hate me" -im not sure what orange haze is, but maybe hes meaning tears fill his eyes? but now the guy has realised that no one is perfect, including her, and that hes starting to understand, but he still has strong feelings for this girl, because whenever shes around, he still feels "weak", and the last line is the guy asking for forgiveness because he doesnt want her to hate him, after he hated her. "Dont hate me, dont hate me We're all done, we're all done We're all done, we're all done " -this is basically both of them saying to move on. to not hate eachother because of their mistakes, and to move on "were all done". =] |
