| I found the alternative to love, and it is Brendan Benson | |
| Horse the Band – Bunnies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah the person who said he talked to nathan and he told him it was about absolutely nothing is correct. I met the guys one and actually watched that movie The Reaping in a free prescreening with the band and Nathan sat right next to me, funny bastard too. The band was supposed to speak before the movie and thank everyone for coming out and Nathan made my boy go up in his place and I drew a moustache on him like Nathan's, PRICELESS look on Erics face when he realized it wasn't Nathan haha. but ANYWAYS back on topic, we were talkign about the music, and he was telling us about Birdo and Cutsmans secret meanings, and one of my friends reply, oh so bunnies has some secret meaning too right? Nathan says, yeah it does, I just want to kick some bunnies! haha he straight up then said no, it means absolutely nothing, nothing at all, I just wanted to have fun. | |
| Horse the Band – Cutsman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah this song was just about a bully in school who seemed so badass and impenetrable but was just some tiny little shit, much like Cutsman... that little bastard... and bout the song bunnies, as someone said earlier, Nathan told me himself it was just about killing bunnies, no meaning haha | |
| The Raconteurs – Many Shades of Black Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I always heard wasted leap year, i think he was just trying to be clever, and in a way make it seem like even longer than a usual year. But yeah, I heard leap year from day one, and am listening now and still did haha, could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time | |
| The Raconteurs – Top Yourself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| yeah definitely nothing but sex, he is basically going off telling her to have fun touching herself, but how you gonna get that deep? | |
| Brendan Benson – Me Just Purely Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it is more or less him actually talking about his commitment to music, and he is saying that some day he'll come back but right now, he wants to prove himself as a musician and not a failure. And when things turn around and he makes it he can go home. | |
| Brendan Benson – Life In The D Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| living in detroit, the D is detroit. He actually says it in a live video. | |
| Brendan Benson – Folk Singer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| You are entirely wrong, wow, he is just talking about life... he is just a basic guy and isn't really doing much with life and his girl hates it. the part about the chains is how he feels restrained and she is trying to get him to conform and quit writing music and do something real with his life like getting a real job and giving up on music. That is basically the jist of things | |
| Clutch – The Regulator Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I have no idea what the hell jennoftheworld is thinking.. The song is kind of about death in many different ways... it is very deep. Now, he knows his time is near is he doesn't care about money or wealth... He just wants peace and to be able to go to heaven when he passes on... It is all he wants... And there are so many times where he feels like giving in to the dark desires and get lost along the way, but he stays true to himself in hopes of making it to heaven... Although he is afraid of death, and doesn't want it to come, he knows it is inevitable and can feel it coming I could be wrong, but that is what it sounds like to me |

| Clutch – Eight Times Over Miss October Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the song is about a with like hunting him and how he has nowhere to run to... the witch story on Elephant Riders is just his inspiration, not what it was about exactly | |
| The White Stripes – Truth Doesn't Make A Noise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
little known fact: the girl who inspired the song in a way is Carrie... true fact. From the Steven King movie, the little psychic girl... She had a strong heart and took in so much, and no one really cared for her. And Jack is kinda in a way saying he did feel for her, and if hemet her in real life would have defended her. My baby's got a heart of stone (she has a strong heart and has a lot to deal with) Can't you people just leave her alone She's never done nothing to hurt you So just leave her alone (self explanatory) The motion of her tiny hands And the quiver of her bones below All signs of a girl alone Will tell you everything you need to know (that is all self explanatory too... she isn't sick, she is just a small girl, and girls, stereotypically, are tiny, and weak, and her bones are quivering because she is scared and becoming weak) I can't explain it, i feel it often Every time I see her face But the way you treat her Fills me with rage And I wanna tear apart the place (self explanatory again, he hates that she gets treated that way for NO REASON) You try to tell her what to do And all she does is stare at you The stare is louder than your voice Because truth doesn't make a noise (No matter what they say, she doesn't have to say anything, because you can see how she feels just by looking at her face... Because well, truth doesn't make a noise... it doesn't have to, you know the truth without having to hear it) No, truth doesn't make a noise Truth doesn't make a noise Does that all make sense? it is a pretty self explanatory song, the Carrie thing when i read it in an interview was kind of a surprise to me, but all made sense. |

| The White Stripes – Little Bird Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Actually Shameless is right... but he DID say the song was about St. Francis, i think only in a sense though. I think St. Francis's practice was inspiration to the idea. I got a little bird (bird being slang for a girl) i want to take her home, put her in a cage (lock her up) and disconnect the phone (so she can't get to it) if you give me a look i'm gonna get the book i'm gonna preach the word i wanna preach to birds (Don't try anything because she is not going to like what happens, and he'll teach her a lesson) as i walk the floor yeah this i know when i get you home this is how it goes i got nothing to lose i'll never let you go (that is what will happen, i have nothing to lose except you and i'm not going to lose it) Now with that being said, i really think the St. Francis thing was because he was someone who preached to birds, and the song is LOOSELY about him, because he had nothing to lose so he spent all his days with locked up birds and preaching it. It is just a different take on his idea. Make sense? |

| The White Stripes – Every Highway That I Go Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
um... the song was recorded but only live and was the earliest version of Little Cream Soda which appeared on Icky Thump. I'm pretty sure it was first played live around the Get Behind Me Satan era... The song is basically just kinda an insight into his mind i suppose. I see it as kind of like the price of fame and where his life is headed now. He misses only having to care about the simplest things in life and living with no worries. Now he is having all types of complications and it gets to a point where he is just confused... Every highway seems longer, everyone he meets seems to want something, and he is always on the road, sometimes having no idea where he is or where he will be going. |
