OutKast – Roses (feat. Big Boi) Lyrics 15 years ago
I can dig why people have a different reading on what the "roses" line really means. I for 1 side with the people that agree on the fact that they are definitely talking about vaginas. Outkast is always inserting the double meanings in their songs that are meant to fly over your head unless ofcourse you think like them which is the fan base they are targeting. That is proven in the line "real down-to-mars girl." Just like somebody mentioned it is no way that Andre 3000 would consider himself down-to-earth; it is apparent in his appearance and position in the rap genre. In fact what he means by "real down-to-mars girls" is that a REAL man is looking for some one who is different than the rest of the girls and thinks on another level just like him.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Pimpers Paradise Lyrics 17 years ago
I can't really say this is directly based on a prostitute. I mean saying that she is a "pimpers paradise" doesn't exactly mean that she is a whore. When I first heard this I was about 18 y.o. And immediatley the connection for me was in relation to young women and their vulnerability when they venture out in the world and they get caught up in the material things and party life; they are naive to the nature of men and what we really want. Atleast for the pretty ones they have stuff provided to them i.e drugs, clothes, and money and because of this "use and be used system" it creates the easy access to things they want and they may start to treat life as a joke. I've seen it a million times. Their eyes get big at the sight of the glamour and glitz by the and time they reach their mid-twenties they are turned-out walking trajedies or they have grown to be so beautiful "your very head will bow." I prefer to see that latter ;-)

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Sun Is Shining Lyrics 17 years ago
Simply musical perfection at it's pinnacle. Like every body said this song is simply about letting go of the stress the world provide's that might divert our attention from the important things. Embracing the beauty of life and appreciating each day as it comes. The Wailers are an amazing band and the sound that they produce in this song is hypnotic. Especially that damn instrument that apears in and out of the rhythm paired with Bob Marley's voice. WTF? That is genius. These dude's musical prowess was way beyond their times. One thing is I really don't see the angle about the "message to an ex-girlfriend" that some of you pointed out. However, this goes in my books as a masterpiece.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Kinky Reggae Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is one of my favorites out of the Bob Marley catalog. One reason is the deep constant flowing and unique baseline that pumps through out the song and then it goes heavy into the bridge. The 2nd reason is the risque-party content of the lyrics. There is no confusing what this song is about. I've read some of the other comments and it amaze's me of how people try to add elements to this song that truly aren't there. This song is truly and simply about promiscuous sex...and that's it. I've read one comment which somebody stated that because of his revolutionary spirit he would've been reluctant to simply base a song on sex. Well if you look at Jamaica, their music, their culture, and Bob Marley himself you would know that Bob definitley got around and loved to party (he has like 13 kids; they do not share the same mother). Being revolutionary has nothing to do with him being conservative when it comes to sex. The 2nd verse always sparks conversation. But, if you look at what he is saying at face value he comes across his friend Marcus who is f%cking some woman. He said "he thinks he'll join the fun" meaning sharing the girl with his boy Marcus in a 3some, but once again "he'll have to hit and run." There is no room for interpretation Bob was just letting his sexual self go free on this song. I mean this guy was a music artis and superstar. He had access to this life i.e. groupies.

Cake – The Distance Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is defininitely about sex. When he says that " somebody has arleady left with the cup" he is referring to her heart which means either he is helping her cheat or she is single, and that is the reason why she is "all alone in a time of need" meaning she is horny and vulnerable. There are numerous references in this song about seducing, and then fucking some chick. I know for myself when I sleep w/ different chicks I sometimes think of other past loves, and thats why "he is thinking of someone for who he still burns."
