| Nirvana – Drain You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song has never really struck me as being about drugs, I think its just about getting into a relationship with someone when you're pretty young 'one baby says to another' a reference to them being pretty innocent ? The thing about passing meat back and fourth in a 'passionate kiss from my mouth to yours' to me just symbolizes them being really connected and close together, same with 'sloppy lips to lips', showing how passionate and yet clumsy the two are ? and the 'duty to completely drain you' bit means maybe he wants to take some the niceness out of this girl and take it for himself, so he gets a bit of her personality ? i know it sounds wierd :} that bit ties in for me with 'your my vitamins' - the girl is everything he needs. This is probably my favourite nirvana song :) | |
| Emilie Autumn – Gothic Lolita Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| im pretty sure this song's autobiographical, i read the thing too about her saying 'a fellow rape victim' :/ poor thing | |
| The Dresden Dolls – Girl Anachronism Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this song so much. But is it just me that has a different version as well? It's slower and at the beginning she sings 'and the stains on my skirt and the dust on the car and the veins about to burst' instead of 'cracks in my hips...blisters on my lips' |

| Lostprophets – 4 AM Forever Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
its about one of his very very closest friends comitting suicide, i think 'why didn't you hear me when i'm calling out to you?(to you) why don't you listen when i try to make it through? (to you)? He feels so guilty as he feels he could have prevented it, but he still feels bitter that he's killed himself when he tried his best to help. i think he never thought that the friend would actually do it, and speaking from personal experience, the friend TALKED about killing themselves and the man in the song, whilst worried, sort of let it go over his head. 'I just let you slip away 4 AM forever maybe I'll never see you smile again maybe we thought that it was all pretend all these words that I could never send I just let them slip away 4 AM forever' like hinman05 said, theres nothing worse than seeing a clock at 4am - your either an insomniac or your too sad to sleep, and he starts to think about this friend; 'it's 4am, and I'm alone' i can relate to this song because i think my ex boyfriends going to commit suicide and even though he really doesnt like me at the moment im so scared for him because he used to be my best friend :/ |

| Emilie Autumn – God Help Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Now that I read the comments up there it does seem a bit Lolita-esque, but when I first heard this song I thought it was more about domestic abuse (and possibly forced sex/rape?) 'God help me I don't see how I can live this way And I don't know why he's touching me Won't you shine in my direction and help me? Won't you lend me your protection and help me?' She is calling out to God to save her from this man. Yet she still feels guilty and unclean because of what he's doing to her; 'Am I guilty or am I just waiting around For the tide to come in so the truth can come out If I had a dollar for every time I repented the sin and commit the same crime I'd be sitting on top of the world today' If anyone's heard Flyleaf's Tina, that's about a woman who is abused so badly by her boyfriend she first abuses and then sets fire to herself; its POSSIBLE that this song is a nod in that direction, as 'That doesn't compare to what I do to myself when you're not there' to me seems to be hinting towards self harm. |

| Flyleaf – So I Thought Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| So I Thought is obviously a song about a rly painful breakup. I can sort of relate to this at the moment. This girls obsessed with the boy she's going out with, and feels that she's 'so in love' with him, and that everything is magical and anything is possible. But then they break up, and that breaking up is her reality check that everything's not OK, and she feels kind of bitter and she 'can't talk about' the years they've spent together, as the memories of breaking up with him are still so raw and painful. 'I was so in love with you, so I thought.' And maybe (just like my last relationship) they don't talk anymore and she's praying that they will see 'something inbetween', and be friends again. And she comes maybe to depend on her faith more, as it will always be there; 'And all these twisted thoughts I see/Jesus there in between'. | |
