| This song is definitely about Love. Whenever I hear of this song, it rips my heart out. It perfectly describes my very first serious relationship and reminds me of the devastation that she had caused to my heart, so long ago. It's funny, though. I still care about her. It portrays the very essence of being alive, and also contrasts itself by being only a mere ''empty wall'', as we all are in life. We are nothing but a drop of water in the ocean of Life and Death. In terms of walls, We are empty, for we are not able to protect others from hurting others, nor can we protect the enemies from hurting us. Thus, War is devised. From a military background, I believe that this song perfectly describes any soldier or Militia Member in the past or the present. The term "Empty Walls" are like the dead soldiers that have either been killed in action, or sacrificed to kill others or to protect others...completely empty.... As we all know, everything is forgotten or "Empty" over time. I think that Serj is trying to say that war is meaningless, for the deeds and wars that arise now will be forgotten in Years to come. The stories will be forgotten, buried with the bodies of the aged soldier. That's just my opinion. I do not wish to be criticized for it... |
