"She swears I�m a slave to the details (" I didn't add anything becuase I really didn't know. I still don't but an idea could be that he really wishes/likes seeing her in light while they have sex and she swears that he is a slave to being able to see all the details of her body during their intercourse. Just a thought. |

I think this song is about the rockstar who sleazes around because he gets girls easy, falling for one of the girls he convinces to have sex with him. She says it helps with the lights out (She isn't too happy about the fact she's having sex with who she is. She's allowed herself to be seduced or convinced into it though she isn't too happy about it. She feels guilty, hinting that she may have another in her life.) Her rabid glow is like braille to the night. (He, however, admires her, perhaps due to her beauty) She swears I�m a slave to the details ( But if your life is such a big joke, why should I care? (But if she feels what she is doing right now is so bad and is ashamed of herself for it, therefore making her life a big joke, why should he care for her?) The clock is set for nine but you know you�re gonna make it eight. So that you two can take some time, teach each other to reciprocate. (To reciprocate means to interchange favours between yourself and another, so she's going to give herself time before whatever to interchange favours between herself and another. The lyrics change however, making it seem as if he's talking of her and another instead reciprocating of her and himself. This could also hint that the girl is already in a relationship.) She feels that my sentimental side should be held with kid gloves (She can sense and is perhaps starting to see that he has a sensitive side and feels she should treat it carefully, perhaps because he is hiding his sensitive side and she doesn't want to piss him off by showing she knows he has it. So, because she's getting feelings for him, but doesn't want to express them sensitively, thinking he'll be angered by this, she expresses them through sex.) But she doesn�t know that I left my urge in the icebox (But what she doesn't know is that he's left his usual sexual urges for her away for another time, he isn't thinking of her sexually anymore/at the moment, but sensitively and romantically) She swears I�m just prey to the female, (She thinks he is still the 'rockstar, sleep with everyone' guy, with every female wanting him and that that is how he wants it.) However because this is the last line of the song it may be a bit more powerful than that so another meaning i think it could be is that his love is very real though subliminal and silent, but still very true, he's IN love. However, her love is just a pony, just the cutesy teenager stuff that isn't really true love but almost a crush and not matured love like his is. Whether he is willing to accept this or not though, isn't known as this is the last line in the song) So there you have it... I think this song is about the rockstar who sleazes around because he gets girls easy, falling for one of the girls he convinces to have sex with him. The song is about their relationship and how it expands and how he grows more and more feelings for her but perhaps her feelings aren't returned as much as he'd like it or at least not in the same way and that's why it's depressing to him and the sound of the song itself is so depressing. It sounds like it's about a UFO thing But I also thought that it could maybe be about the Hiroshima bombing of WWII? See it (they see the bomb in the sky) Startled (self explanatory) Afternoon I had to ask (..not too sure, it happened at afternoon though) as an example. The lines without anything next to them were because I couldnt find an explanation to them. It's just a suggestion though, the UFO sighting meaning seems more logical considering the album title and cover art |

I think it's about friendship and relating the others "we've lost the minds we came to know" could mean he's lost his friends because of... "We rise and fall For pride and gain Just defending ours, always defending ours" Because they don't want to relate and be open because of their pride so they might've drifted away I can't comment on the cattle out in the cold thing because I don't know what it would mean or what cattle do in the cold :P He also states "we all belong in the Saturdays of our youth" Saturdays being a metaphor for the best day of the week/best times of your life, and that everyone deserves to be living in those times, like every day is a Saturday. instead of the "we all live in chaos now swinging claws" due to no one relating, admitting their problems, bonding, etc. "something new" could refer to people actually bonding and such because it's an uncommon thing to always defend your pride, gain etc so it could be classified as something new. Thats what I think anyway |

Or.. "normal" people trying to change people who are unique or stand out or are weird and tell and trying to find ways to make them "normal" too.
